Reko + FARE Idaho = Easy Access to Consumers!

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with RekoHub.com to establish local food pickups, also known as Reko Rings, across Idaho. This initiative is a significant step towards our mission at FARE Idaho: to support our local producers by creating direct pathways to market.

Our primary goal is to simplify the process for Idaho residents to find and purchase locally produced food directly from our farmers, ranchers, and producers. By launching numerous Reko Rings (food pickups) throughout the state, we aim to enhance accessibility and convenience for consumers, while providing a dependable and efficient market for our producers.

If you are interested in participating as a producer, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/HEUxjNVqzG4fo6KH9

For more information on this initiative and to see how you can get involved, please visit our page: https://www.fareidaho.org/reko

For a practical example, you can see how the Nampa Farmers Market utilizes RekoHub to facilitate pre-orders each week: Nampa Ring

You can also explore local Reko Rings in the Treasure Valley area here: Treasure Valley Ring. Reko Rings in other areas are coming soon!

What is a Reko Ring?

A Reko Ring is similar to a pop-up, but without the hassle of predicting how much food to bring! Customers pre-order your product through the RekoHub online platform, which handles all the payment processing and inventory. You simply pack up your products and meet the customer at a designated place and time!

How It Works:

We will organize groups of producers in strategic locations to set up specific "drop" locations where they can meet customers once a week to deliver pre-ordered food. This pre-order system allows producers to prepare precisely the right amount, reducing waste and ensuring a smoother transaction process.

Each drop-off will be brief, typically 20-30 minutes, making it a quick and convenient way for customers to pick up their locally produced food. This also benefits producers by minimizing the time they need to wait for customers, allowing them to focus more on their production activities.

Tyler Taggart, CEO and Founder of RekoHub.com, will collaborate with us to establish these groups. His recent efforts in St. George, Utah, resulted in over $2,000 in additional sales in the first week alone! Tyler will also spearhead advertising campaigns to boost visibility and sales for our local food producers.

For those interested in learning more about setting up and managing a profile, we have curated a playlist of helpful YouTube tutorials: YouTube Reko Tutorial . Additionally, you can schedule a time with Tyler for personalized assistance in getting your profile set up: Schedule Setup Assistance.

This initiative aligns perfectly with FARE Idaho's commitment to fostering resilient local food systems. By building this infrastructure, we are not only helping our producers reach new markets but also strengthening the entire local food economy.

We look forward to working together to create a vibrant and resilient local food network in Idaho.

Support local. Eat fresh. Make a difference!
