We’re Listening – Member Feedback and our Ongoing Efforts

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent member survey. Your responses and insights are incredibly valuable and help us shape our work to better serve Idaho’s food and agriculture community.

What You Told Us:

  • Representation: The majority of respondents feel that FARE Idaho represents their interests well, but we recognize that there is always room for improvement.

  • Communication: While many members are satisfied with our communication, some have asked for more meaningful updates and increased transparency in our messaging.

  • Community Role: Many of you see FARE Idaho as a strong advocate within the community. We’re proud of this, and we’re committed to continuing to strengthen our presence and impact.

  • Membership Value: Advocacy efforts, networking opportunities, and educational resources were highlighted as the most valuable aspects of your membership. However, some of you expressed a desire for more concrete benefits.

What We’re Doing to Support You:

  • Enhancing Member Benefits: We've partnered with Nice Healthcare to provide accessible healthcare options to all FARE Idaho members, no matter the size of your business.

  • Expanding Market Access: Through our Reko partnership, we're creating new Reko Rings across Idaho, making it easier for local producers to connect with consumers.  It’s an easy-to-use platform designed to help producers sell their products directly to local customers. If you're a producer interested in utilizing this free tool, click here to learn more.

  • Transparency in Advocacy: To improve transparency and inclusivity in our advocacy efforts, we are restructuring the Fare Idaho Legislative Affairs Committee (FILAC) to better represent all sectors within our community.

  • New Opportunities: We’ve developed an RFP tool to help restaurants connect directly with producers, supporting the local economy and strengthening our community ties.

  • Member Interface Rollout: Our newly launched membership interface is designed to make it easier for you to access resources (like grants!), connect with others, and manage your membership details. We’re excited for you to explore these new features!

What’s On the Horizon:

  • Upcoming Events: We’re planning more virtual roundtable discussions this winter on topics that matter most to you, so stay tuned!

  • Networking Opportunities: We’d love to host more in-person networking events to strengthen our community connections, but we need your help! If any of you have venues and are willing to host our gatherings, please reach out and let us know.

  • Field to Fork Festival: Get ready for our Field to Fork Festival! This annual event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Idaho’s food community, connect with producers, and enjoy local flavors. We're also seeking sponsors for this event, so please get in touch if you'd like to support and participate.

  • Sponsorship Opportunities: To continue providing these valuable programs and initiatives, we rely on the support of sponsors. If you or someone you know would be interested in sponsoring an upcoming event, educational resource, or community project, please get in touch. Your support makes a difference in advancing our local food and agriculture sectors.

Please know that we're always open to your feedback. Your insights drive our efforts, and we encourage you to share your thoughts with us anytime. If you prefer to keep your feedback confidential, we respect and honor your privacy. Also, some of you had unique requests like access to translators, help with succession planning, and land trusts; while the survey was anonymous, we’d love to provide more nuanced support, so please reach out if you need help—we have partners for that!

Together, we can continue building a thriving food and agriculture community in Idaho. Thank you for being a part of FARE Idaho!
